Migraines: The heavy metal / mineral connection

Migraines: The heavy metal / mineral connection

In 2015 Turkey's Yuzuncu Yil University found thatmigraine patients had significant higher levels of the toxic heavy metals cadmium, iron, lead and manganese, 2 to 4 times the average amount found in the control group.

Lead, found to be 50,000 time lower in the bones of prehistoric man, has been linked with brain cancer and brain dysfunction. Lead also Interferes with iodine uptake to the thyroid. Lead also displaces calcium, zinc, manganese, copper, and iron.

Cadmiumreplaces zinc in the arteries, contributing to brittle, inflexible arteries and atherosclerosis. Cadmium inhibits release of acetylcholine creating hyperactivity of the nervous system and damages nerve cells in the brain. Cadmium caused neuronal death alters the transmission of information.

Ironin excess raises sodium, which can lower calcium, magnesium and zinc levelsleading to nervousness and irritability.

Mineral Deficiency:Migraineurs were found to be deficient in zinc, magnesium, and copper.

Zincis known to be used in over 300 functions in the body and is involved with 3000 proteins. A deficiency in zinc can cause a cascade of health issues. The average zinc levels of these test subjects was almost non existent, at over20 times lessthan that of the control group.

Magnesium, an electrolyteinvolved in over 300 functions, is necessary for nerve transmissionand muscle relaxation.Magnesium calms anxiety, and migraines.Magnesium in the migraine group was flatlined at 3.5 times less than the control group. Sodas, alcohol, refined sugar and refined carbohydrates all bind to magnesium and flush it out of the body.

Copperwas half that of the control groups.

Hair Analysis Testing for Toxic Metals and Minerals.

Research finds that many migraine sufferers are both toxic and mineral deficient. For myself although I eat mostly organic, however my first hair analysis showed I was toxic in 5 metals and deficient in many minerals. With the hair analysis I was able to pinpoint my deficiencies and target the toxic metals for removal. I have now made considerable changes in both categories.
